Frequently Asked Questions

Is Channel Checker really free?

Yes, completely free. You don't need to create an account, provide an email address, or enter any payment information. Just type a channel name and search.

How accurate are the results?

Results come directly from the YouTube Data API v3 in real time, so they reflect YouTube's current channel database. However, YouTube's API returns the most relevant results rather than every matching channel, so we recommend also doing a direct YouTube search for any name you're seriously considering. Very small channels with no public videos may not appear in results.

Why does the tool say my name is "available" but I can see it on YouTube?

This can happen when a channel is very new, has no uploaded videos, or has not been indexed by YouTube's search system yet. If you find a channel manually on YouTube that the tool didn't surface, it means the channel is too small or inactive to appear in API search results. We recommend treating "available" as "no prominent competing channel found" rather than a guaranteed clear name.

Do you store my searches?

No. Your search queries are used only to fetch data from YouTube's API during your current session. We do not store, log, or analyze individual search queries. For aggregate site analytics (page views, browser type), we use Google Analytics with anonymized data only. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Can I use this tool to check channel names on platforms other than YouTube?

Currently, Channel Checker searches YouTube only. For cross-platform name availability, we recommend manually checking Instagram, X (Twitter), and TikTok handles, and using a domain lookup service to check whether yourname.com is available.

I found a factual error in one of your blog posts. How do I report it?

Please email us at tejasgiri910@gmail.com with the article title, the specific claim you believe is incorrect, and any source or evidence you have. We review and correct content regularly and appreciate readers who help us maintain accuracy.

Can I suggest a topic for your blog?

Yes! We love topic suggestions from creators who are in the trenches building channels. Send us your suggestion with a brief description of what you'd like us to cover and why it would be helpful. Most of our best article ideas come from creator feedback.

The tool isn't loading or is showing an error. What should I do?

First, try refreshing the page. If the issue persists, it may be a temporary YouTube API outage or quota limitation. YouTube's API has daily usage limits, and during high-traffic periods the tool may temporarily stop returning results. Try again after a few minutes. If the problem continues for more than an hour, please email us with your browser and device details so we can investigate.
